The Detroit Lions are a professional American football team based in Detroit. The team's home ground is Ford Field located in the downtown area of Detroit. The team was originally called the Portsmouth Spartans back in 1929 which used to play in national football league. However the Spartan collapsed due to the great depression of 1930s.
